Crossing the Jordan (Jos. 3)

Joshua and his army went to the river Jordan and stayed on its bank three days. Then the officers went through the camp and commanded the people, "When you see the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord borne by the priests and the Levites, follow it; but stay two thousand feet from it."

Then Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders for you."

The Lord said to Joshua, "Today I will make you great in front of all people."

Joshua said to the people, "Now you will know that the living God is among you. He will drive out your enemies from you. See the Ark approach the Jordan."

When the priests bearing the Ark reached the Jordan the waters from above stood and rose like a wall; and the people passed over the Jordan to Jericho as if on dry land.
