You can see at least one of these coin funnels on various malls, this is so fun for children as it amazes them watching a coin circles around.
They come in different colors like black, red, blue, and yellow but the most common is black.
Here is a little experiment for you...
WHICH COIN ROLLS FASTER?
Roll coins on top of the surface of the funnel. The funnel is a working model of the solar system and displays Kepler's "laws of planetary motion". This applies to any orbiting body, including satellites orbiting the earth. The center whole represents the sun and a coin rolling represents a planet in motion. Gravitational pull is represented by the downward curve of the surface. The steeper the curve the greater the pull of the coin , as it gets closer to the center. As the coin circles and descends, its energy of position is replaced by energy of motion. This is why a planet speeds up as it nears the sun and slows down when it's further away.
