A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak. It is generally steeper than a hill, and colder than their surrounding lowlands. It is also less preferable for human habitation than lowlands, the weather is often harsher, and there is little level ground suitable for agriculture.
